The China-Italy Painting Exchange Program includes events in Shanghai and Italy, themed around ‘Road of Friendship’. The organizing committee will select 300 outstanding works from the winners of the ‘2019 Shanghai Student Painting and Calligraphy Competition’ and high school student works recommended from various districts of Shanghai to be exhibited at the Shanghai Dashijie Cultural Arts Exchange Center.
During the exhibition, art experts from China and Italy will select 30 works through a combination of expert evaluation and online voting, which will be exhibited in Florence, Italy. In the summer of 2020, Shanghai will organize a student delegation to Italy for exchange activities
Rules of the Event
Selection Process:
The organizing committee will select 200 artworks from the winning entries of past ‘Shanghai Student Painting and Calligraphy Competitions’ and invite each district to recommend 100 artworks from high school students who study Italian language (15-20 artworks per school) for the exhibition at ‘Shanghai Dashijie’.
Dimensions of the paintings should be 50cm * 50cm (including frame), with no restriction on painting style. Physical artworks must be submitted to the organizing committee by November 20, 2019, along with a completed ‘Registration Form for Entries’. By February 15, 2020, 30 artworks will be selected through online popular voting and expert evaluation by Chinese and Italian art experts (no categories). All selected artworks will be exhibited in Florence, Italy, during the 50th anniversary of China-Italy diplomatic relations. A student delegation will also be organized to Italy for mutual learning and exchange activities.
This event will invite experts from both China and Italy to serve as judges.
